During the summer months, we provide an opportunity for toddlers and preschool children, and their families, to learn more about Montessori through our summer programming. While many of our summer campers are from our own school community, we also have participants experiencing the Montessori Method for the first time. Our camps are for children ages 15 months to 6 years, and are led by highly qualified teachers, who work at MCMS during the school year.

Toddler Summer Program
8:00am-12:00pm (half day)
8:00am-3:00pm (full day)
Available for children ages 15 months – 2.5 years, our summer opportunity for toddlers will provide children all the experiences of a Montessori-inspired environment: children will explore care of self and care of environment activities, and participate in gardening, baking, and nature discovery through walks in our beautiful, adjacent prairie. Families may choose half-day or full-day options. Children will bring their own lunch in both programs.
Montessori Summer Camp (8am-12pm)
Children will relish their mornings in our richly prepared Montessori environment with direct access to the outdoors. Activities may include experiences in daily living (cleaning, flower arranging, polishing, food preparation/baking), and with sensorial materials (special activities that engage all the senses), as well as lessons in math, language, botany and zoology. Mornings will buzz by while learning, making choices, having fun and engaging with others in a supportive community!
*Children must be toilet trained and 2.5 years old by the start of the session.
Summer Splash (12pm-TBD)
Our afternoon camp includes daily indoor activities such as music & movement, manipulative materials, creative play, arts & crafts, baking, and other special activities based on the theme of each session. Outdoor activities include short hikes, picnics, gardening, and regular time on the playground, including water play. The afternoons will begin with lunch (brought from home) and include a quiet time for rests/naps.
* Children must be toilet trained and 2 1/2 years old by the start of the session.
